Should the Nest thermostat be on or off?
Whether your Nest thermostat should be on or off depends on your needs. Here are a couple of things you should consider:
How long will you be away from home?
If you«re going to be away for a few days or more, it«s a good idea to turn off your Nest thermostat completely. This will save you energy and prevent your HVAC (Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning) system from running unnecessarily.
What is the temperature outside?
If it«s very hot or cold outside, you may want to leave your Nest thermostat on so your home stays comfortable. However, if it«s mild outside, you can probably turn it off without problems.
Your comfort preferences.
If you are comfortable with a cooler or warmer temperature in your home, you may want to leave your Nest thermostat on even when you are away. This will ensure that your home is comfortable when you return.
Keep in mind that large temperature swings can be harmful to your home. That«s why it«s recommended NOT to turn off your thermostat.
